Times Square in New York City Freezes for Live Streaming of Coldplay in Concert in Madrid
Times Square, NY is one of the most hectic places in the entire world. Recently in October, due to the magic of the Internet, Times Square converted into “an international pop icon when tons of men and women stopped in their tracks as the digital billboards of Times Square unexpectedly came to life with a live YouTube streaming concert of Coldplay from Madrid, Spain. The concert, which occurred close to four pm est and eleven pm Madrid time, was broadcasted on majority of Times Square’s giant LED super signs. A first for even Times Square, particular arrangements for this worldwide event were made with the City of New York (and EventPermits exclusively directed special occasions permit) to let the concert audio from the contributing screens to sound in the Broadway Plaza below. This was the first time the city let live audio from the huge digital screens way above the Square. The live music was played throughout the Broadway Plaza, from sound equipment that was specially created to accommodate the strict special occasions permit regulations imposed by the city (sound equipment by ThisIsItProductions.com). A sum of ten technologically advanced mini speakers were purposely positioned all around the Plaza, and the entire event was controlled with a single ipod. With technology at its finest, the occupants and guests of Times Square had the chance to listen to Coldplay as though the group was several yards away. This notable occasion was carried out due to the work of the EventPermits crew. After weeks of compromises with the city and NYPD, our crew was able to get the proper special events license, sound permits, and generator permits, that allowed our clients to hold a successful function right in the heart of Broadway. Our TimesSquareDomination staff obtained the rights to almost all of the tall, digital Super Screen Billboards in Times Square. These Times Square big screens make a long lasting impression. Not only did men and women have the chance to experience Coldplay live in Madrid, Spain, but they also got to see the band sing the songs on their newly released album. This was an occurrence that anyone, including non-Coldplay fans, would have loved.
